Some appropriate weight loss quotes

Every day, I sit down at my computer and look at a quote I put up last year. This quote is there to help motivate me to be more than I am each and every day. Yesterday, as I read a forum post on TTMembers, the quote seemed very appropriate for the discussion so I shared it. That led me to look up some other quotes and see if any would also apply to my weight loss journey and goals. I found quite a few, and these are all from one author, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. I hope you enjoy these and find some inspiration in these great words.

To have more, you must first be more

This is the quote I have posted on my desk in the office. It's a reminder that, if I want better things in life, I have to be better each day at what I do.

Enjoy when you can, and endure when you must.

How true is this in weight loss and fighting off food cravings?

Nothing is worth more than this day.

So take advantage of this day to do something good for yourself and those you love.

To be pleased with one's limits is a wretched state.

This Belly Off program has taught me this lesson. I now actively look for new fitness challenges so that I can keep transforming myself.

Treat a man as he appears to be, and you make him worse. But treat a man as if he were what he potentially could be, and you make him what he should be.

This is something I try to live by on the forums, as well as in real life. I'm no cheerleader, and I'll tell it like it is, but I do believe in the power of community and motivation. Treating people with respect and telling them "Good job" when they accomplish something doesn't hurt me and only helps them keep going.

We are never deceived; we deceive ourselves.

And man, was I ever deceiving myself. Having moobies and weighing in at 208 for a 5'11" guy was not healthy and I pretended it was.

We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves; otherwise we harden.

And not in a good way. I've seen too many people who have stopped learning or evolving and they are some of the most miserable people who are so closed off from reality that you don't enjoy being around them. They aren't happy for you and they aren't happy for themselves. Don't ever "harden", except your tone body!

Whatever you can do or dream, begin it.

Like the song goes "Put one foot in front of the other, and soon you'll be walking out the door...". Dreams are just dreams until you "begin it", then they can become reality.

Please, share some of your favorite motivational quotes, I'd love to hear more.
