Not feeling it today

Today was one of those days where I really didn't feel like working out. I went to bed a bit late last night (got wrapped up in getting nomorefatdad.com back up and running) and then my dog decided to go crazy this morning, must have been some animal running by the window, at 6 AM. Then there was a melt down at the breakfast table from one of the kids. It was just one of those mornings.

I had to talk myself into driving to the gym after dropping the kids off at school but I'm glad I did. Coming off 4 months of doing nothing, there are still some lazy tendencies I need to work off. Giving in today to my lack of desire could have been a disaster.

As I got out of the car and walked into the Rec Center I felt I had won a little mental battle and that was all I needed to get me ready for this workout. Once I started the warm-ups, everything was fine and I was ready to tackle my first full Big 5 for Fat Loss Workout B workout.

I have to say, I like this circuit style of program better than supersets. To me it seems to flow a lot better, making for quicker workouts. It takes a few minutes for me to get the few pieces of equipment from around the gym but once I'm situated, it's go time!

The Big 5 for Fat Loss workout is a 4-week program. I think I'm going to add a week to it since I only did 1 circuit on each day of the first week, instead of the 3. As I go through the circuits, I have to stop during some sets and take a breather. My goal is to be able to get through each entire circuit without stopping by the time I get to the last week of this program.

how does a guys who gained back every single pund he lost have a blog on weight loss?

to me, you lose credibility.

lose some weight, than start it back up again........why would anyone listen to what you have to say? YOU FAILED.

sorry, credibility lost in my eyes.

sad, really. used to be a fan.

This has never been a "blog on weight loss", it has been a journal of my experiences as I work towards becoming a fit dad. Those experiences include the bad with the good.

To answer your questions "How does a guys [sic] who gained back every single pund [sic] he lost have a blog on weight loss?" it's simple.

95% of all the folks who lose weight gain it back (according to . I would guess that a majority of those folks think it's a losing battle and give up. I'm not giving up and I'm hoping that anyone who's in the same boat as me reads this and learns something that can help them or they realize they're not the only ones having problems or they get motivated to get back on the proverbial horse.

In a perfect world, I would have not put 20 of the 30 pounds I lost back on. But guess what, this isn't a perfect world, and I'm by no means a perfect person so I move on and use this experience as a lesson and I use the name calling from an anonymous poster as motivation to push harder so thank you.

...deal with the facts.

Why should anyone listen/read your blog?

used to read your blog for motivation myself.

you gave up on yourself, your readers, and everyone else who came here for inspiration.

you were supposed to provide motivation, not seek it from your readers.

you decided to put yourself out there for others to follow. now, you must deal with the consequences of putting yourself out there and failing your readers.

this is no different than Mens Health putting a deep fried oreo cookie recipie in one of their issues.

...you're not feeling it.

you've gained 20 lbs of fat in very little time.

I think you should change your blog to, "Fatdadisback.com" than, when you lose the weight, again, change it back to "nomorefatdad.com"

lol, he's back for only a short time so I'm not going to honor him with his own domain, maybe a post, but not a domain.

Steve, it's not easy sometimes to push through the "battle" that takes place in your head and win the "war" to get into the gym.

But you did it, and you're just keeping the momentum going.

Great job!

Nice blog too!

Thanks Sean,

No, it really isn't. It was only a few of those battles that I let my mind win that got me back to where I am right now.

Glad you like the blog, yummyfitness.com is really nice too!
