Lipton has been kind enough to allow me to raffle off a Lipton Custom Fuji Crosstown 2.0 bike ($399 retail) as part of their “Free Your Y” promotion.

The “Free Your Y” promotion is all about tapping into people’s inner youthful spirit and highlighting those things we do every day to make us feel young again. While I don’t jump around on bikes or play with swords (check the videos on the “Free Your Y” site), playing with my kids every day frees my youthful spirit. That sure helps me feel young again and it sure is a lot easier after losing 29 pounds.

And why does Lipton care about feeling young? I’ll tell you why. Because Lipton White Teas are made from young tea buds, plucked early in their life cycle. These young tea buds are packed with a high concentration of flavonoid antioxidants and provides all the other natural benefits of tea.

Lipton is sending me a few samples of the White Teas, so I’ll let you know what I think of them in a week or so.

In the mean time, if you want to enter the drawing to win this awesome bike, leave a comment and on May 15th, I’ll draw a winner from a hat (well, one of my kids will really).

Along with the bike, the winner will also receive 5 coupons for a free 1.5 Liter Bottle of Lipton White Iced Tea and a $75 check for professional bike assembly.

Overall, that’s a great prize package, I wish I could enter!

Now for the legal stuff…

You must be a US resident to enter (sorry Andrew)

The Pepsi/Lipton Partnership will provide a check for $75.00 to be used for professional assembly of all Lipton Fuji bicycles awarded. Neither Pepsi Co. nor Unilever is liable for any injuries, damages or accidents that may result from the receipt, assembly or use of this bicycle.

Good luck to everyone who enters, I can’t wait to announce a winner in a few weeks!

P.S. - My friend John over at JohnisFit.com is holding the same contest, so if you want to improve your odds, go check out his contest post too!

P.P.S. - There are a few other blogs holding the same contest as well. Why not increase your odds by checking out these blogs and their Lipton bike giveaway.

quick question, and I am not trying to be a wise guy…BUT

why do you have ads on your home page that link to diet pills? I have never once heard you suggest they work.

Do you beleive these products work? To me, the only way to lose weight is through diet and exercise.

Just curious, I do believe you have a right to make $$ off of your success–

Hope I still have a chance to win the bike!!

Consider me entered! I also linked to your post from my own contest post. I’m giving one away but I wouldn’t mind winning one too!

  28. steve on May 6th, 2008 1:07 pm

    Hey Mike,

Good question, and no, it does not invalidate your contest entry.

You are right, I don’t believe in diet pills or most other supplements out there (I use whey and a multi-vitamin) so I have tried to not advertise them on this site (even though it could mean a lot more money).

I’m guessing you saw the ad under the “Ads by Google” section. Google serves ads up based on the content of the website it’s serving the ads to. Since my site is a weight loss/fitness site, their ad engine believes weight loss pills would be of interest to my readers and displays the ad. I have very little control over what specific ads are displayed by Google.

So, sometimes, you will see an ad from Google that goes against what I believe in but other than that, everything else I do have full control over so you should never see an advertisement for something I do not use or believe in.

    Thanks!

    Thanks,
    Tom

Vanilla over at Half-Fast announced the winner to his bike competition today. He videotaped his son drawing a name out of a hat. I was sad not to win the bike, but it was hard to be upset with such a cute kid. :)

  57. John on May 9th, 2008 11:15 pm

Hey Steve, I too came over from the link on JohnIsFit. I’m glad he pointed the way. I’m really enjoying your blog.
As for the bike… please throw me in the hat too. I have lost 97 lbs (over 100 by the time you make the drawing) and I am really enjoying riding bikes with my kids for the first time in their lives. At first they thought it was pretty funny, but now they just think its cool and they want to do it all the time.
Currently I am riding a ‘yard sale special’, so a shiny new bike would be SWEET!

  58. Zandria on May 11th, 2008 8:20 am

Since I started working out regularly last year, I feel so much better — both physically and mentally. I lift weights three times a week, I run and walk, and I’m currently taking a belly dancing class. Now I just need to add a bike to the mix!

I’m giving away a free bike, too, but the contest ends today! Be quick! :)

  59. Bruce Jackson on May 11th, 2008 11:50 am

I’m working on a fit to fad dad plan myself. Thanks for the motivation, and please sign me up for the drawing!

Yes, I know about Hermes! I looked on Ohiorunner.com and there was nothing listed for a half that was anywhere near where I live. I will try for the perfect 10 miler, then I will do the half next year probably during the Cleveland Marathon.
